School StreetThe experimental scheme for Roxbourne Primary School will create a a vehicle restricted zone, that will operate at school start and finish times.The scheme will run during school terms from Monday to Friday each week.Restrictions will apply at the following locations and times:Yeading Avenue, Waverley Road and Torbay Road, (between Widdicombe Avenue and Capthorne Avenue). 8.15 am – 9.00 am and 3.00 pm – 3.45 pm
How will it work?The scheme will be controlled virtually using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and traffic signs at the entry points to the zone to inform drivers of the restrictions.Local residents living in the zone and blue badge holders will be exempt from restrictions, by applying for a free virtual permit for their vehicle(s). The permits allow access to the School Street zone at all times. Eligible residents within the school street zone will be contacted with details of how to apply approximately 2 weeks before the scheme goes live. Other exemptions will apply including emergency services and council waste collection services.
